13th December 2009

Back to 4 people today. Graham had to be somewhere at silly o'clock Monday morning, and Paul and Sam had friends round. We missed you guys.

Ron decided to get us clearing a load of stuff in the 2nd boggiest place at the walk, again. This will be our third, and probably last session at this part of the walk.

The forecast was all over the place, except Ron of course got it spot on. The weather was therefore mainly kind to us.

Although we got in a slight shower, we had a roaring fire going and, as usual, were working so hard that we barely noticed the rain.

In the article from the Harborough Mail, the reporter called Ron the "Jubilee Walk WARDEN".

This got Jill to thinking about titles for the rest of us.

After some quite ridiculous, and frankly rude and downright libellous suggestions we came up with the following...

Jill - "The Wardens' Hair-on-fire-putter-out-erer"
Mat - "The One in Charge of Working Whilst The Rest Have a Fag Break"
Graham - "The Official Log-pile Burner"
Trudi - "In Charge of Imigration"
Paul - "Mrs Blakes Keeper Happy-er"
Sam - "Coppers Nark"
Your humble author - "Dogsbody"

FUNGUS/Fungi

We managed to photgraph some Glistening Inkcap.

This adds to the Morel we saw on the 19th April 2009.
It has prompted us to start yet another sightings page for fungi (with pics) over at fungi sightings.

After a hard, but rewarding session, we made our way home in the dimming light. Jill got a shot down the walk.

Not the best quality I'm afraid - sorry - it's the light (or lack of it) and the naff camera. We don't always take the good un down there if there is going to be a chance of rain.

PS: A massive thank you to the walkers who stopped today and said what a lovely job we were doing. They live in the village and love the transformation. Thank you thank you thank you.

Enjoy the site, but more importantly come and enjoy the Jubilee Walk.
