NEW BIRDBOXES AT THE JUBILEE WALK
On the 22nd January 2008, Ron and Mike placed the first birdboxes around the Jubilee Walk.
We met at 11:30 on a bright but chilly day and armed with 6 birdboxes, nails, a toolkit on a stick and naiviety (me) we went looking for likely trees.
Your humble author has never put up a birdbox before. Ron is a seasoned veteran.
As we walked round I vaguely pointed at trees and said “that one?” err.. “that one Ron?”. Ron just pointed to the biggest, straightest trees up the steepest slopes and said “THAT ONE!”. (Actually he never shouts - that was web site poetic licence).

Off we scrambled, up muddy impossible slopes that Ray Mears wouldn't attempt. Sprightly Ron whacked a few nails in whilst I clung to the ladder.
He was in more danger from me mud-surfing with a ladder and man attached to it than just tipping elegantly sideways.
Job done we both had a big smug smile on our faces and counted each box twice.
